Matty Update, Day 5

Thanks for all the encouragement to stay patient with our new little kitty. I think I over-reacted a little, becuase it made me nervous and sad to have an animal that didn't seem "safe" around kids. But I think it will work out fine, she seems to be settling in well - though she's spending much of her time sleeping under the bed, I think she's enjoying the freedom to do that. It was challenging the first night we let her wander the house - she was so excited that she jumped up on the bed and tried to cuddle every hour or two, and it felt like I was sleeping with a time bomb, never knowing if her "cuddles" would turn into bites! But last night she was calm all night, so she seems to be improving rapidly. We're still considering adding a second cat to the family, but we'll give this one a little time first, I think.
